Product: hp media center pc m7160n
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)

my computer has two optic drives:  LightScribe dvd writer/cd writer and dvd-rom. system does not recognize either one. does anyone know how to fix this? thanks, be well, peace.                 dale

Hello

 

I could not find HP Support info on the model you gave. So I have limited information on the specs of your PC.

 

Will try to assist you with this problem.

 

First check both connections for power and SATA on each drive and SATA connection on motherboard. Try different SATA cables.

 

Microsoft has helpful troubleshoot steps to maybe fix this problem if it is system corruption.
