Two of our t510's are now exhibiting the problem of getting a "Display server failed to start. Would you like you reset your configuration?" while booting up. This is prior to booting into the GUI. Whether you press Y or N, it resets the display settings to default and then boots as normal. No other problems are noted and there are no display issues once the machine is powered on. The rest of our t510s are fine and have never had the error. Has anyone seen this and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix?
Specs on our t510s:
BIOS version: 786R11 v1.03
OS: ThinPro 4.3 (T6X43101) and ThinPro 4.2 (T6X42019) (it is happening on either OS build)
Monitor hardware: dual - HP LA1956x

This was an issue that has been resolved at our engineering level via a patch. The patch though is not set for release to web as of yet.
To receive the patch before web release please call the support line is 1-866-852-4865 and let them know you have been told the issue is a known one and request it be moved to 3rd level support (3LS) for fix for 'display server failed to start'

Hello,
I have contacted HP support (europe) and they told me that the issue was not known by them.
Is there any way to have the fix?
Can someone send it to me?
Thank you for yuor help.
EDIT: I have update to last Thinpro T6X43101 image but the proble still exists

I did get the patch from HP and tested it on several of the affected units. It seemed to have fixed the problem on all of them and then today another one that was freshly imaged with the patch had the error again. Any other ideas?

I updated today to the last image (T6X43202 Rev. 1 - 6 Jun 2013) I still have the same problem.
If I restart the device manually then I have the error message.
If I power off then power on, no error message.
If I restart the device through HPDM, no error message.
Did anyone find a workaround?
Could someone poste where to get the fix?

I booted up a brand new t510 today straight from the box, without imaging it or changing anything at all, and it gave the error message. I google searched the error today and this thread came up as the top result, which means a lot of other people have been looking for a solution to the same problem.
If these are doing it out of the box then there are probably a very large amount of affected units at this point. My organization can't move forward with deploying these devices without a solution. Someone at HP must be aware of this and have some idea of what is going on?

I received the patch last days but it does not fix the error on startup. It seems like the patch only slows down the startup sequence. Any other idea?
I've got still a call at HP, hope they have another solution.

I still haven't gotten a resolution from HP on this either. I noticed there's a new BIOS update for the t510. Does anyone know if that update is any kind of fix at all?
If anyone else is having this problem, please post here as well so this can get some attention from HP. Lately all the new units we're getting from HP are exhibiting the problem so we can't be the only ones seeing this.

The new BIOS does not resolve the issue.
I have the patch which is more a workaround than a true solution.
When the error message appears, there is a countdown of 10 seconds and if no key is pressed, "Y" is selected.
It's still better than nothing but you loose display profiles if you created some.
HP support told me that the patch will be included in 4.4 image...
Waiting for updates

I checked the "10s-fix" but we've got many devices with dual monitor so it is no solution to lose on nearly every startup the configuration. I'm still waiting for an answer of HP for a fix or a release date fpr 4.4.
Until this I've changed the 10s fix to not reset the display configuration if no key was pressed while the countdown. It is for now better than nothing and prevents to reconfigure each device every morning.
Regards
