You may have noticed that you earn a rank level for your activity and contributions.
Rank Levels are an indication of your involvement and reputation in the community.
You can "Rank Up" by actively contributing to the Community on a regular basis. The further you progress through the ranks the more capabilities and privileges you unlock.
So, what does it takes to earn a higher rank?
Here’s what it takes to earn points and how many points each activity is worth. The more you participate, the higher a rank you will reach!
Activity | Points |
Post a question to the community. | 1 point |
Reply to another member’s post | 1 point |
Receives a "YES" (this reply was helpful) on your post | 2 points |
Your reply is marked as an Accepted Solution | 8 points |
Write and publish Knowledge Base articles. This additional capability is earned as of rank level 8. | 100 points (changed 10-Mar-2021 from 12 points) |
Read the FAQ guide to get familiar with the HP Community | 4 points, one time |
Change your profile avatar. Your avatar is the image that represents you in the community. | 4 points, one time only |
Reach level 11 within 1 year or 1.5 years | 1000/500 points, one time only |
Attend a conference call, tech briefing, webinar, Q&A session | 500 points each |
Participate in a special project or focus group | 500-2000 points, depending on level of involvement |
Attend a face-to-face meetup | 2000 points |
Attend at least 50% of all sessions at a virtual meetup | 1000 points |
Expert Loyalty | TBD |
How many levels are there?
There are 25 rank levels in the HP Community. As a newly registered member you will start on the Rank level “New Member”. The only way is up from here!
The easiest way to rank up is to visit regularly and stay active, adding value where you can.
What additional capabilities and privileges can I earn?
As a new member, you will start with basic community access.
Higher ranks unlock special privileges and capabilities like the opportunity to further customize your account, write knowledge base articles, get (self) nominated to the HP Expert program, access to private boards, and more.
