Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has a cool keyboard theme suggestion? I often find myself switching my keyboard color/theme a lot (and I've had this laptop since July 12th!). I want something I really like that I can stick with. If possible, can you also tell me how to get the theme that my keyboard uses when I boot it up (before my current theme is loaded).

Thank you for reading this, and if you helped me, thank you for helping!!

@Michelle365, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Customizing Your HP OMEN Keyboard Theme!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Customizing the keyboard theme on your HP OMEN laptop can be a fun way to personalize your device. Here are some suggestions for keyboard themes and instructions on how you can apply them using the HP OMEN Command Center:

Theme Suggestions:

  1. Galaxy Theme: Create a celestial atmosphere with deep blues and purples to mimic the cosmic environment.
  2. Sunset Gradient: Use warm colors that transition from orange to pink, replicating a sunset effect.
  3. Retro Arcade: Combine neon colors like green, purple, and orange for a classic arcade vibe.
  4. Cool Ice: Use shades of blue and white to create a chilly aura.
  5. Forest Vibes: Mix greens and earthy tones for a natural, soothing look.

How to Customize Your Keyboard Theme:

Open HP OMEN Command Center: This application allows you to customize various aspects of your HP OMEN device, including the keyboard lighting.

Navigate to the Keyboard Lighting Section: Inside the command center, look for the section dedicated to customizing the keyboard.

Select or Create a Theme: You can choose from available presets or create a custom theme by adjusting the colors for different zones on your keyboard.

Applying the Boot-Up Theme: The boot-up theme is often the default setting for the keyboard before user-defined themes are loaded. You might be able to reset to the default boot theme by selecting default options or resetting the lighting settings within the command center.

Save and Apply: Once you’re happy with your customizations, ensure you save the settings and apply them to make the theme active.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello! Thank you for the help, but I don't know how to make any of those things, can you show how to make them? If the HP Forums allows videos maybe you could attach one, if not, you could put a few images that include steps.

@Michelle365, Glad you liked the ideas! Let’s bring them to life so your OMEN keyboard feels exactly how you imagine.

Open OMEN Gaming Hub — think of it as your control room. Click Lighting, then Keyboard, and switch to Custom mode. You’ll see your keyboard split into glowing zones — like a painter’s canvas.

Pick a color for each zone (I’ve listed codes below), then choose an effect like breathing for a soft pulse or wave for a ripple of color. Save your masterpiece, and you’re done.

For the startup look, hit Reset to Default in Lighting — that’s the glow you see before Windows even wakes up.

Here’s a quick one to try right now:
Galaxy Theme → Deep Blue (#0D1B2A), Purple (#4B0082), Magenta (#FF00FF), effect: Breathing (slow).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello! Inserting the color hexes didn't work. Can you maybe send the .zip file using Export theme in omen light studio? And can you do the same with Sunset and Icecube?
