HP 25x monitor not working with DisplayPort to HDMI

HP Recommended
HP 25x
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got the 25x monitor today and bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable but the monitor is saying no input. It works fine with a regular HDMI cable, but only runs at 60Hz. I have tried all of the basic fixes like unplugging and checking drivers. For reference, I just got an acer nitro 5 with i7 and nvidia 1050ti graphics card. Any suggestions help. This is the cable I bought: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-6-displayport-to-hdmi-cable-black/6213011.p?skuId=6213011

Hey there! @Thumph319, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand when you connect the monitor using a display port to HDMI connector you don't see a display on the monitor.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

How is the monitor connected to your laptop?

Are you using an HP genuine adapter?

Have you tried checking with a different video cable?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned when you connect a straight HDMI cable from your PC to the monitor it works fine.

So it certainly sounds like an issue with the display port on the PC or the adapter you are using could be faulty. Replace the faulty display adapter and check if it helps.

You can replace the adapter with the following part number- K2K92AA

You can also purchase the adapter using this link. Click Here

Try checking with a different monitor or a different video cable and check if it helps.

Refer this article to know more information about Connecting a Monitor, Projector, or TV.

Hope this answers your query!

I hope you have a great day! 🙂
