OMEN by HP Accelerator Shell - GA1-1000
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi! I'm trying to use one of my two HP OMEN Accelerator with several known good GPUs. The device gets power (green LED in the back of the chassis) and the lights on my GPU power cables are also on showing power is going to the GPU. However, the fan never spins and nothing is displayed on the screen, with confirmed functional Thunderbolt cables. There's no LED lit on the end of my Thunderbolt cable that has one on it. It worked well for years before this, and sat for a few months without being used after that.

Is there a way to order a replacement board for the unit perhaps? What are my options other than discarding the unit? Thanks for any advice.

@Chief-M, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your HP OMEN Accelerator not functioning correctly with your graphics cards. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Check Connections: Ensure that all connections are secure. Double-check that the Thunderbolt cable is properly connected to both the OMEN Accelerator and your PC. Inspect both ends of the cable to make sure there is no damage.

Power Supply: Verify that the power supply is adequately connected and providing enough power. There may be an issue with the power supply unit itself, despite the lights indicating power. Consider testing with another compatible power supply if possible.

Firmware and Drivers: Ensure that the firmware of the OMEN Accelerator and drivers (both Thunderbolt and graphics card) are up to date on your PC. You can find firmware and driver updates on HP's official website.

Thunderbolt Port: Try connecting to a different Thunderbolt port if available to ensure that the issue isn't with a specific port on your device.

GPU Compatibility: Re-confirm that the GPUs you are trying to use are compatible with the OMEN Accelerator. Even if they worked previously, it's worth double-checking the official compatibility list, as firmware updates might affect compatibility.

Reset / Power Cycle: Power down both your OMEN Accelerator and your computer completely. Unplug them from the power source for a few minutes, then reconnect and power them up again.

Test with Another Device: If possible, test the OMEN Accelerator with a different computer to see if the problem persists. This can help determine whether the issue is with the accelerator or the initial computer setup.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
