I'm running an HP Reverb G2 on a MSI Mainboard  (PRO Z690-A) , that provides an USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20Gbps Type-C USB Port, where the VR-Headset worked fine since six Months until today. When I switched my PC on today the "Box" at the Headsets Cable stayed off, even after disconnecting and reconnecting the Power Cable to it. There where no USB connect oder disconnect Sounds from Windows. After checking all Cable Connections,

and the Headset still not working afterwards, I was sure my VR Headset Cable would be broken,

but then I tried to connect the Headset to another High Speed USB Port on my Mainboard (USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps Type-A with USB-Adapter). I immediately got the "USB-Connection Sound" from Windows, the Cable Box lit up, but unfortunately the WMR Portal Software gave me an Error, saying my USB Port would be too slow.

To test the USB-C Port where I usually attach my HP Reverb, I plugged in an external SSD with USB-C Cable to this Port, and it got immediately recognized by Windows and it worked flawlessly. So the USB-C Port should be OK.

In Short: I can use other Hardware on the High-Speed USB-C Port where I was used to plug in my Reverb G2 Headset. The Headset gets recognized on any other USB Port on my PC, but not on the fastest one, where I used to attach my Headset unitl today. All USB Ports where I tried the Headset are at least USB 3.2 Ports, but the WMR Software won't start the Headset because of an "USB too low" Error. So currently my Reverb G2 doesn't work at all on my PC.

All my GPU- und Windows Drivers are updated, Windows 11 is on cumulated Update 2022-10.

Meanwhie I completely uninstalled WMR Portal from Windows, and when I now connect the VR Headset to the PC Windows (on another USB 3.2 Port as usual) Windows runs a WMR compatibility Check, that fails because of missing USB 3 Ports. So I can't even reinstall the WMR Portal Software.

I can't notice any Problems with USB in the Windows Device Manager. But the Device for the HP Reverb G2 shows an Error "E_DEVICE_USB_SPEED_TOO_SLOW".

I had a similar issue when migrating from my old PC to a new PC build.  The G2 worked fine in my old AMD Ryzen 9 3900 cpu, with MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus motherboard. My new PC build is an i9-13900K CPU with an MSI Pro Z790-A wifi motherboard. I kept the same GPU, GeForce rtx 2080 super in both. The Reverb G2 worked fine with the USB C port in the older AMD build.  I could not get the Reverb G2 to connect, or be recognized in the new build.  I tried updating the BIOS, and all of the drivers.  I tried all of the USB 3.0 ports.

I chatted with MSI technical support.  Their story was that the Reverb G2 requires a USB c 3.2 port that supplies 7.5 watts, and the MSI pro Z790-A wifi motherboard USB c 3.2 port supplies only 5 watts.  I couldn't verify this information via any printed specs online. It also seems suspect, as the Reverb G2 utilizes a separate power brick.  It doesn't quite pass my logic test, but MSI has spoken and that is their story.  BTW I can't get my Reverb G2 to connect to my old PC or new PC build now, so I may have damaged the unit with all of the hardware switching that I was doing. Be careful.  These are apparently super fragile devices.
