HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset - Professional Edition
Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased a HP Reverb back in April of 2020. I just recently purchased an HP Envy 34 All in One with an RTX 3080 card which I thought would be good for VR.

The computer only has an HDMI port on it and the reverb has a display port plug. Does anyone have any ideas what connector I can buy so I can use the reverb on this PC?

I've contacted HP support and sales which was no help at all. I have already purchased 2 different adapters and neither one works. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

Hi@rverderber,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are looking for a connector for the HP Reverb G2 to connect to the HP All in one PC.

I have a few recommendations

  • Try using the DisplayPort® to HDMI® adapter lets you connect an HDMI-enabled video display to a DisplayPort.
  • You can also try connecting it with alternate ports if available.
  • For more information click on this link https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06433655

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

All of the suggestions in the link would let me connect an HDMI cable on the device to a display port on the computer. I need to connect the display port connector on the device to an HDMI port on the computer.

Hi@rverderber,

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.

I apologize for the Inconvenience. The HP Reverb G2 connects to your PC via a DisplayPort™ 1.3 and USB 3.0 cable. If you use an adapter, ensure that it supports 4K resolutions. Verify that the cable is fully inserted into the headset. Check to make sure the small dot on top of the cable is lined up to the top edge of the headset.

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.

Do you know of a specific adapter that will work? I have bought 4 different ones now and none work. All the adapter I see everywhere say they are Display Port 1.2 compatible not 1.3.

Has anyone at HP ever tried to Connect an HP Reverb to an HP Envy 34 All in One computer?
