Hello
The following HP Support site will guide on disabling Secure Boot and enabling Leagcy Boot.
Select Using Secure Boot on desktop PC at this HP site. Scroll down to disable Secure boot and follow steps. You must disable Secure first or will not be able to enable Legacy Boot.
Restart the PC.
Now go to Control Panel, Device Manager, Programs and Features.
Uninstall all current Nvidia stuff. Start with Graphics Driver. Then reboot and check Programs and features again. Then repeat uninstall process until all Nvidia drivers are gone. Reboot at each driver uninstall as requested by Windows.
Then you are ready to install new graphics card.
Don't stand on carpet or work in PC on metal workspace. Unplug PC from AC power and depress power switch to remove any remaining power in motherboard. Open side panel and remove old card. Don't forget to depress PCIe x16 retention clip before you remove the old card from the slot or you can break the card and/or the slot.
Touch metal on PC case once in a while as your are doing the new component install. Connect six pin power to new card.
Start PC and install 1060 Nvidia drivers.

Hello
Will try to assist you.
Your pc meets requirements for:
UEFI BIOS
PCIe 3.0 x16 slot
Minimum power supply of 400 watts.
The 1060 is doulble slot card so check this. Length of card also looks good. Check for six pin PCIE connector on your power supply.
Think about getting the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING, ACX 2.0 (Single Fan), 06G-P4-6163-KR, 6GB GDDR5, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC), Only 6.8 Inches. It cost more but you get ACX cooling so card runs cooler and will run quiet. It is OC'd at factory.
Have heard some bad things about the single fan model. Noisy and runs hotter.

Hello
Before install new card you should uninstall current graphics drivers completely from Windows 8.1
Then go to BIOS, Security. Disable Secure Boot, enable Legacy Boot. Then reboot PC and enter four digit confirmation code.
Then shut down pC, unplug from AC . Remove old card if you have one installed. If using on board graphics then skip this step.
Push in retention lever on x16 slot in towards motherboard before remove/install old/new graphics card. Install new card and connect six pin pCIe power connector. to card.
Boot PC. Then install Nvidia graphics drivers for new card.
