Does connecting the controllers this way help with better tracking of them? If I play xplane and am hand flying the airplane with the controllers, they stop tracking and lock into place until I look down so the headset can see them and then they track for a few more seconds before I have to look to down again. Thanks

No, this doesn't change how the controllers are tracked. The headset doesn't have down-facing cameras, that's why it loses tracking when the controllers are too low.
