Sending a 4k signal (from ps5) to a 1440p monitor (Omen 27i)? Will it work?

Hey guys, I was wondering to buy a ps5. Its a really nice console, and so... I realised that i dont own a 4k monitor or a 4k tv. Only a 1440p Omen 27i monitor. I know that the ps5 can play games at 4k, and i was wondering (again) if I choose the 4k mode on the ps5, if the monitor (Omen 27i) will diplay it as a 1440p signal. Long story short- I just wanna know if i can display ps5 4k as a 1440p on my monitor.

The first time I thought why couldnt the display read the signal as 1440p? But I googled for a bit.. Well... There was a few articles about 1440p monitors, that cannot read 4k signal at all. 😞

So... If Im going to buy a ps5, I dont want to be in a situation, that my monitor only supports 1080p from the console. That all fellas.

Please tell me it can read 4k signal...

From the specs of your Omen 27i monitor

It supports  Quad HD (2560 x 1440), not 4K. The PS5 may NOT support 1440p as mentioned below

They has few tricks there, hope you can use those. Otherwise you have to use different monitor such as

Yeah, thanks for the info, but...

You didnt answered me the thing I wanted.

I was asking if I CHOOSE 4K OUTPUT on the ps5,

if the monitor can DOWNSCALE IT TO 1440p.

So, basically I will send 4k signal into the monitor, but it will display only as 1440p. I know my monitor is quad hd 1440p.
