@Naticus Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR is a Steam component that lets you run SteamVR using Windows Mixed Reality headsets, it's got nothing to do with error 7-14 which is related to AMD USB drivers on X570 and other AMD chipsets. It seems these USB drivers are not supplying power to USB specification resulting in this error 7 -14 but also intermittant audio issues where windows forgets and discovers the Realtek USB2 audio device, leading to sound glitching.

I'm not at all talking about the 7-14 error in that reply, unlike my other replies in this thread. I was specifically replying to @chuckyou999999's problem with SteamVR recognizing their HMD if you look back in the thread. They managed to get the HMD recognized by the WMR app but not SteamVR.

I'm hopeful it's just a driver issue. Some folks have fixed it by adding a PCIe USB3 card, but it's inconsistent - hasn't worked for some. That's actually encouraging to me that it's a driver issue that can be fixed with software.
A worse outcome would be Asus and some other X570 boards (ALL Asus X570 boards seem to have the issue, but it's hit or miss with others) aren't up to spec hardware wise, which would mean a fight with Asus and an RMA.
Not having USB3 ports working with USB3 applications simply isn't acceptable for a $400 motherboard. Even the expensive USB 3.2 ports don't work. Fortunately I can play for now since my 2080 Ti has a USB3 C port that works just great, but I'm actively looking for a 3080. Got to have an answer by the time I find one, even if it's 'return the defective Crosshair VIII and get something else.'

Checking in to add some data: I also have an Asus Tuf x570 and I'm having the same problem. The headset is fine, I tested it on a different computer with an Asrock b550 and it worked.
Edit: it will start with the front usb port, but only runs at 60hz

I have the "GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO Wi-Fi" with the 3700x processor and Gigabyte's 5700XT for graphics.
I have the same issue.
Purchased a PCIe USB 3.0 hub through Amazon just now to see if it will work, but will take a few days to arrive. Will try to remember to update if the USB hub fixes it.
If I update, I'll also post what framerate I can get and how reliably the fix works.
Note: The G2 initially worked when I first plugged it in, but without audio. When switching USB ports, (in attempt to fix audio) it would no longer connect.

I plugged an unpowered Anker USB hub into one of the two front panel superspeed USB ports of my x570 Gigabyte GA-X570 Aorus Master Motherboard and connected the USB of the headset via the usb c adapter.
The Unit shows up in device manager as 'Generic Superspeed USB Hub'
Have tested for several hours today and the audio issue (which is not the 7-14 error) hasn't reappeared.
When the Anker hub is placed in a non-superspeed front panel USB port MRP gives the error 'Make sure that the USB cable is plugged into the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port.' When the headset is plugged into the superspeed front panel USB port with the USB-c adpater directly (not via the Anker hub) I get the message in MRP 'Your headset is connected to an incompatible USB controller. Try plugging your headset into a different USB port, if available. Or, try installing a Microsoft USB driver in place of any incompatible drivers. Error 7-12'
This is the unpowered hub I'm using https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07L32B9C2/

I don't know if I'm understanding you correctly.
You are able to use the headset with audio and mic by connecting the Anker USB 3.0 hub, which is connected to a front USB port on your case that is leading to one of your motherboard USB 3.0 slots, but if you try to use the USB C connector, it wont work, and if you try to use anything other than 3.0 "superspeed" it wont work.
You have to use the adapter AND you have to go through the Anker hub. Then the headset will work?
Also, I am buying this to test: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W82SV3V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It will be here on Wednesday.
