HP OMEN 25l
Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased some XPG RGB D50 3200Mhz 2x8GB to replace the included 8GB 3200Mhz that came with my new OMEN 25l. Even though I have enabled XMP profile 1 the memory is being detected as DDR4-2667 for max bandwidth. I have tried manually entering the timings with Ryzen Master and while the timings were correct, it was still being detected @2667Mhz. I contacted XPG support and they recommended I contact the mobo manufacturer to see if anything else needs to be done to detect the ram correctly @3200Mhz. I tried putting in a support ticket but the site isn't loading correctly after I select my device to contact an agent for, it just sits at loading. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this issue, it's been driving me crazy all morning! CPU-Z screenshots attached.

Edit to add: The included HyperX ram detects @3200Mhz just fine.

Hi,

HP locks down memory speed and timings. The included Hyper X is probably the only RAM where you will see 3200.

Check HP purchase option at HP Part Surfer (Link). Punch in your PC's product number and your location. You can get the HP part number for the factory memory from the parts list. I don't think HP sells this part at retail.

The Max Bandwidth you see for each module in CPU-Z is most probably the default speed of this type of module.

If you enabled XMP Profile 1 in your Bios, they should run at 3200, this is what you see in the "Memory" tab of CPU-Z (1600*2 = 3200). It is also shown in Speccy, or directly in the Windows Task Manager in the "Memory" part 🙂

I have 4x16GB Kingston 3200 + XMP Profile 1 enabled and here is what I see :

You should not worry, I think your system is running fine 🙂

Hope it helps !
