Has anyone been able to get higher clocked RAM (3000 or 3200) into their Ryzen 1st gen system (running at 3000, 3200) or has HP still locked down the RAM to 2400?

@X-Nemesis , welcome to the forum.

I don't believe that it will be possible to overclock your memory from 2400 to 3000/3200.  Your BIOS will use a small chip on your RAM modules called an SPD (serial presence detect) chip to set memory timing and frequencies properly.

Thanks OG, so does that mean than that this system will run ddr 3200 if I pop in two 8gig sticks?  Or will any and all compatible memory sticks default to 2400 even if they're rated at a higher stock speed?

You are welcome, @X-Nemesis!  Thank you for the additional information.

All sticks of memory will default to 2400 MHz.  This is the way the BIOS/UEFI is setup.
