Solved!
Boot Device Not Found
10-14-2017 11:25 AM

Hello, I just bought this refurbished desktop a couple of days ago. Received it yesterday and turned it on today. Received the titular error. Checked it with system diagnostics (F2) and it says that the harddrive could not be found. Pressed F10 and got the hp setup utility menu. Not certain if I should return it or try to fix the problem. Either way, not impressed with HP as this product was supposed to be verified for quality (hence refurbished).

First thing to do is to make sure that something did not become disconnected during shipping???

Make sure that all the SATA connections on the System Board and HDD are good.
Desktops are notorious for having cables and memory become disconnected during shipping.
Since you can run Diags your memory should be good.
Check the HDD connections.

Hey, opened up the computer and it turns out that the sata cable connecting the hdd to the motherboard got disconnected. Probably during the shipping. Thank you, I would have never thought of opening the computer as it could void the warrancy . Sorry to HP for doubting their product.
