Microsoft Windows 11

So I purchased a PC with a 5060 Ti graphics card and as advertised HP sent me a promotional code to redeem a free copy of Borderlands 4 for purchasing the PC with a 50 series card. When I went to redeem it via the NVIDIA app as instructed, the app tells me my product is not eligible for the promotion and cannot be redeemed. I contacted NVIDIA support and they told me the promo was only for 5070's and higher, not 5060 Ti. Despite receiving the code for my product, they refuse to honor it and told me that I could contact HP to "return my code." (???) When I came to get support from HP- after over an hour with an online agent-  I was told to call instead but I cannot do so at this time, so was hoping an online agent would help. The code expires on October 21st. Please help. I don't want to be on this goose chase anymore lol.

Bring up stream and enter the registration code.  Use the "Nvidia App"  Possibly a hack might be available in the future to run the game.  AFAICT the test for the GPU is made once so if you can fool it with a bypass it will run in the future with the 5060.  i had to do that once on an AMD graphics card which I borrowed to install the game. YMMV.

I am trying to activate my copy on a 5070 and then transfer it to an RTX2080ti pc.  Not sure if it will work but I will let you know if you are interested.

So it's not that I can't play the game- It's that can't even redeem the code provided to me. I learned from a NVIDIA rep that the promo was only good for 5070's and up. And I still received a code for a 5060 Ti product. My problem is why would I be given a code for said promotion if my product wasn't eligible in the first place? and how would I be compensated for this inconvenience?

I hear you but I cannot do anything about the 5060 except to say it will not pass the NVidia check.

I am looking at installing it on a different system once i get the steam code, but possibly there is going to be a problem.

I suspect the word "not" is not correct in the following warning from the NVidia site.

I am going to try the following:  Get approved on system with 5070, and try to download on a 4060 (I have 11 systems at my location, about 1/2 are mining).  If that does not work then I will swap boards and see if it works after I put back the 4060.

FWIW, I registered the game on my system that had the 5070, obtained the steam activating code, then used that code on  one of my systems that had a 4060 card and was able to download and run the game.

You would need borrow someone's PC with the 5070 type card, log in as another user, register the card with the nvidia app and obtain the steam code.  You would need to delete your account on that PC but the steam code will then work on your 5060 system.

Was there an offer by HP to sell the 5060 and you get the game?  Can you provide link?

I don't have a link, no, as the promotion already ended. And the promo was good for 5070's and up. After learning from NVIDIA the details of the promotion, it turns out that HP mistakenly sent me a redemption code despite only buying the PC with a 5060 Ti. I've sent all said information/receipts/evidence to hp support via email, live agents in chat, and even the BBB in hopes this could be rectified or compensated for their mistake. Still waiting on their reply.
