Product: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0013w
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So the old HDD went out.  Went to upgrade to and SSD load up the OS and got met with and error video tdr failure. They say to update drives but cant when as soon as its logged in it freezes and reboots.

Please explain step by step what you did.   Also specify what SSD device.

A clean install should install to an un-formatted device.

I removed the old HHD put in a PNY 250gb ssd and installed a clean version of widows on to the ssd after formatting it.

Delete the partition(s) on the SSD.  Let WIN10 setup the format.
