Feature Request: Manual/Customizable Fan Curves in BIOS (HP Omen)

Unfortunately it seems impossible to control PWM-enabled fans through the BIOS/UEFI, or (effectively) through the Omen Gaming Hub.
I thus would like to request the addition of a Fan-control subsection in the BIOS-setup, so that advanced users can tweak their fan curves.

In my case I've added additional fans to the case that are hooked up through the sys_fan and f_fan 1 headers, on any other motherboard those would be customizable.
The fact that fan control/BIOS is so limited makes it impossible for me to recommend an HP system to friends, in fact it makes me actively dissuade them from considering HP products.

I see you are looking for the Manual/Customizable Fan Curves in BIOS on the OMEN 25L Desktop PC.

I have a few recommendations 

• Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
• Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date. 
• Click on the link for OMEN Gaming Hub to optimize performance and customize OMEN desktops. Different features are available depending on your system.

Unfortunately the latest available BIOS for my GT12-1561nd, which is BIOS F.12, does not have any customizable Fan-curves.
The only available 'customization' is the option between Quiet - Normal - Turbo inside the Omen Gaming Hub, this is barely any customization and the reason for my post is mainly to voice my complaints about that fact and to ask for a more advanced (industry standard) customizable fan-curve graph.

In my opinion this is very lacking for a product-line being catered to gamers & other pc-enthusiasts.

GT12-1561nd Specs:
Motherboard: HP 8876 (AM4) (AMD B550)
BIOS: F.12 (latest one from the website)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

On the topic of BIOS improvements, I just came across this video by Linus Tech Tips going over the fatal flaw in the new HP Omen 45L. I have an earlier HP 25L model, but the same BIOS shortcomings seem to be present. (No fan curve, no OC-menu, no XMP menu).
Linus also mentions the difficulty boosting the CPU performance from the UEFI/BIOS and the fact that HP insists on using RAM with slower CL-timings.

I concur @johndemol ( how is linda?), its an absolute catastrophic board and bios design, that let me believe HP thinks we're all a bunch of retards.. A bit how i feel after buying my omen machine 2 months ago.

I simply cannot find any valid reason why not to at least allow for user fan control in the bios.. I idid a case swap,  as in my case, a ryzen 9 with an 3080, dont get adequate cooling in a shoebox. 

The guy that invented this is probably the same chap that designed the hyperx modules ( if i ever meet him in person, i will force feed them to him, without ample cooling ofcourse)

This all topped of with the ' ignore the question so we dont have come up with a valid response'... Can someone with a soul please look at this at hp?

@Jcnwholland Although I concur that HP shipped a horrible BIOS for a system aimed towards gamers & enthusiasts, I still have hope for improvement to the BIOS.
Also in terms of a valid response, I do want to thank @Dilip_18 for passing the thread along to the appropriate teams and hope that changes will be made that meet the needs of the more advanced user.

I do agree with you that HP might have underestimated the demand for a more advanced UEFI/BIOS from this demographic.
I guess HP might have thought that 'power-users' (for lack of a better term) would build their own system from scratch and avoid HP.

Playing devil's advocate I can however come up with some reasons for the limited BIOS, on the one hand it's easier to create but it's also 'safer' as messing around with the fan curves & voltages could result in higher temps and perhaps even overheating. Increasing the risk of failures within the warranty period.
- I imagine there are some built-in throttling measures to prevent it though within the CPU & GPU, but I don't know -

On the topic of the RAM sticks, I imagine it allows them to use the chips that don't sell (bc: slower CL timings) and force customers to buy from HP. Although actually getting a hold of additional sticks through HP seems impossible.

Hi John, point taken on several aspects. However i do suspect that there is an other variable in play, namely commercial contracts between the actual hardware engineering/producing companies and the OEM as hp is. The relative low price hp probably pays for each components, vs the price for individual consumer units, has to be compensated in a way. If not, the regular consumer market would take a big hit. In extremis, last winter gpu price surge for instance, made it almost possible to by an entire oem system with 3080, for a single over the counter 3080.. In order to preserve this more lucrative market, differences in capabilities and or limitations are forced in place. Thereby  differentiation between OEM units and regular unit, and there price difference.

Locking it down in terms of safety.. hmm if a person knows about fan curves, and is digging in the bios to find it, its reasonable that this user is responsible enough, and with a unlockable bios part (  that cannot be changed without doing several steps only an advanced user would know how to do) it would be safe for all users..

Thanks to @jcnwholland for sharing this image. I was surprised to find the lack of a Memory Overclocking menu in the UEFI/BIOS. But it turns out that that menu only shows up when non-HP sticks are inserted into the system.
I suppose this makes sense as HP has already tuned them for maximum stability, albeit at slow CL-timings.

I hope that the fact that this feature was added later could indicate that more improvements can be made to the BIOS.
