I have installed thje application TreeSize to see what was taking up my computer space because I only have about 5 games installed. My games are located in my desktop folders, but it seems they are also taking up space in my personal folders, my question is: is this supposed to be happening? And if not, how can I safely remove one of them and free up space?

No, they are NOT duplicated. You've got folders and sub-folders then sub-sub folders. Space for a folder = total space for all sub-folders using Tree structure.
