Hi @Gianmarco10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that you are facing an issue with the secure boot Fortnite problem. The relevant guidance is:

  • Secure Boot can affect video/boot compatibility on Windows 8/Windows PCs, especially after hardware changes or configuration changes in the BIOS. HP notes that some older hardware may not work correctly with Secure Boot, and in some cases, users need to review Secure Boot and Legacy Mode settings in BIOS/UEFI.

  • If the PC is not working as expected after BIOS or system changes, HP recommends trying recovery options in this order:

    1. Microsoft System Restore

    2. Microsoft Refresh

    3. HP Recovery

  • HP also recommends:

    • Keeping the PC fully updated

    • Using HP Support Assistant for the latest drivers/software

    • Creating backups before recovery actions

Because the provided HP content does not include a Fortnite-specific fix, I can’t confirm a game-specific solution. If Secure Boot is already enabled and the issue continues after a BIOS update, the HP-backed next steps from the provided material are to:

  1. Check Secure Boot / Legacy Mode settings in BIOS and confirm the system is using the expected boot mode.

  2. Update drivers/software using HP Support Assistant.

  3. If the problem started recently, try System Restore.

  4. If needed, use Refresh or HP Recovery after backing up your files.
