Hello everyone, after about two or so years of ownership of the HP omen 30L, I've upgrade my cpu to a ryzen 9 5900x and added more ram 128gb total. I'm considering a gpu upgrade to rtx 4070. Anyone know if this is possible on the hanna 8876 motherboard? I believe the 4070 has an adaptor or something like a two to 1 type pin cable. Also, my other question with the ram, everywhere online I find that this board can only support 64gb but in cmd prompt i checked the system capability and it calculated to 128.

@sanjoel23 , welcome to the Community.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading a video card.  Once you have read the article you will have a better idea of what will work.  The motherboard has "One PCI Express 4.0 x16 lanes" PCIe slot.  This should accommodate the 4070.  Here are the specifications for the 4070 family.  You will have to scroll down and select the section titled "Specs".

HP motherboards are made to their specifications.  They are not necessarily the same as a retail motherboard.  HP has different price points for their products.  Your motherboard has a limit of 64 GB of memory according to their specifications.  For this reason, we can only recommend 64 GB.

Hey thanks a lot and that is very helpful. At this point I've realized I don't really need the upgrade. I'm just going to ride it out with these current specs a while and purchase another big expensive pc later down the road.
