@sshrirams,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Here are some steps to try to resolve the issue:

1. Double-Check the Serial Number

  • Ensure that you are entering the serial number correctly, as it is case-sensitive. Serial numbers typically include a mix of letters and numbers.
  • Avoid confusing characters like "O" (letter) with "0" (number), or "I" (uppercase "i") with "1" (number).

2. Locate the Correct Serial Number

  • The serial number can usually be found:
    • On a sticker on the back, side, or bottom of the desktop.
    • In the system BIOS/UEFI:
      • Restart the computer and tap-tap-tap the F10 key to enter BIOS.
      • Locate the serial number under the "Main" or "System Information" tab.
    • In Windows:
      • Open the Command Prompt as Administrator and copy/paste/enter: wmic bios get serialnumber

3. Check the Website

  • Ensure you are using the correct website for your region (e.g., hp.com, hp.co.uk).
  • Use HP's Product Identification Tool to auto-detect your serial number.

4. Contact HP Support

  • If the issue persists, contact HP Support directly:
    • Explain the issue and be ready to provide proof of purchase, such as an invoice or receipt.
    • HP can manually register your product and update their database.

5. Check Product Registration

  • If the desktop was purchased from a third-party retailer, it might not yet be registered with HP.
  • Some delays in syncing serial numbers with HP's system can occur, especially for newly manufactured devices.

Hope this will resolve your issue!

Kind Regards,
