While installing a PCI-E sound card, I came across two narrow black wires that were obstructing the slot. I tried to detach them from the bottom of the power supply by removing the tape, but they became loose. I'm uncertain if they were connected to the motherboard or not. The wires' other ends lead to a hole in the top of the computer case. Could anyone help me identify these wires and their connection points?

Hi:

From what you are describing, most likely they are the thin and delicate antenna wires that connect to your PC's wifi adapter.

If your PC has a poor wireless signal, that is what you disconnected.

I would have no clue where they go other than to the wireless card, since you provided absolutely no information regarding the model number of your PC.

Screen shots of the inside of your PC would help as well.
