@Ttobin39,

 The “rgb round fan cable” is indeed used as the RGB fan lighting cable:

Omg that is great news! I really appreciate your help with this. You are amazing!  Last question, the coolmaster rgb fans rgb connector is too big to fit on the rgb round cable. Is there some type of adapter that i could use to connect it?

@Ttobin39,

It appears other users grappled with this very same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPOmen/comments/nn0zm7/adapting_a_cooler_master_rgb_cpu_cooler_with_hp/, and put together this adapter:

I couldn't find any adapters for sale yet.

So, your desktop doesn't have the "lightning control module"?

Oh yeah that would be nice if someone sold that type of adapter. Well dang, i didn’t think it would be this difficult to get the rgb to work on this desktop. I watched the video that you sent me and sent you a picture of that part of the panel. I am not sure if i have a lighting control panel, or at least nothing is labeled that

@Ttobin39,

Trust me, tried hard to find out more info on your desktop, but information is lacking. See here, for example: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=13Z02AA.  As you can see, incomplete parts listing.

Hey! Could i possibly go this route? I could buy a Corsair iCue commander core, plug that into an open usb spot on the motherboard and then connect the rgb connector to that?

@Ttobin39,

Absolutely, in my opinion that should work great!

@Ttobin39,

Btw, reading up some more on Commander Core XT users, I came across this Reddit forum discussion where people were discussing difficulties getting the Corsair Commander to work: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPOmen/comments/q7ozs2/corsair_commander_core_problem/, and one 'redditor' commented, quote: "Okay on the suggestion of another redditor I tried something else - I bought this header to usb2 adaptor, and used it to connect the commander core to one of the rear external USB ports. It works like a charm! Much easier than buying a new motherboard." An Akasa product link was provided, but it is a German-Amazon link, not very useful if you live in the US.  Here is a more convenient link in case you determine you need this part: https://www.performance-pcs.com/cables/usb-cables/internal-usb-cables/akasa-external-to-internal-usb....
