Hp Gaming computer 690-0024 ram doesn't show all available
02-23-2019 08:04 PM

I am trying to get overwatch to work correctly on this computer for some reason it hard freezez. Well this caused me to notice although system game with and reads 8 gb ram less than 6 gp is usable.
I can't find any information explaining why this would be, or how to fix.
Thanks!

Ive seen others with the same issue.
Please post the full product number of your HP desktop.
If I can get enough information from some of the other users, I can then report it to HP.

@Brian0128, here is a good explanation of how to use Task Manager to monitor the your real-time computer functions:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-windows-10-task-manager-monitor-system-performance
If you look at the Memory section it will explain how the memory is being used. You can open Task Manager by right clicking on Start (Windows logo) and selecting Task Manager/Performance.

There are at least three separate threads on this issue. I am still not sure why 2 GB of the RAM on the 690-00xx PCs is hardware-reserved and unavailable. Here is the other thread link:
