My gaming laptop has been a dark screen for a few months and the people at hp support rarely respond and when they do they don’t know how to help because every time they control my computer they don’t listen to me when i keep saying they cant fix the issue by just messing with the brightness because I have tried. The laptop works just fine, the only issue is I can’t see anything on the screen itself but, when I’m viewing it off of an hdmi cable the brightness is clearly full as seen on my tv, but anytime I want to use it on its own I can’t because I only get a really dark screen on it does anyone know a solution

Hello @Zenro
Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.
This sounds like screen backlight error...
Recommendation and solution
In your case: Service is required !
- The computer should be disassembled and checked.
- [Always recommended] Thermal paste for CPU GPU and bridges should be renewed
- [Always recommended] The function of the fan(s) must be checked
- The internal display cable that goes from motherboard to screen has to be checked or replaced
- The screen has to checked or replaced
- Short circuit test
- General cleaning ...
HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair
HP warranty expired:
If you can't do that, you should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.
Good luck
