Can I upgrade my processor on a 690-1009 hp pavilion with a Lincs motherboard?

Hi,

Yes, you have quite a couple of CPU upgrade options.

Look at Processor upgrade information using this (Link).

Thank you so much!! I wasn’t sure about that even if I saw that page but now i’m sure.

Hi,

You're very welcome.

The 9700 or 9700F is an upgrade. The F processor does not have graphics.

I have another question. Do you think that the  basic CPU cooler will do the job on the i7? Because the i7 cooler is not compatible with my motherboard because it doesn’t have screw.

Hi,

Don't know what "it doesn’t have screw" means.

The stock CPU cooler should work. It may be a little louder with a faster processor.

You are only swapping a CPU. All factory components should work.

Hi,

I would not do a 9400 to a 9700 upgrade.

Don't think it has any added value when compared to the cost.
