You seem reading in my mind 😄 Reason qhy i opened this thread was because i bought 2 banks of G.Skill Aegis 3200 but installing them frequency dropped to... guess what? 2133 Mhz!! (XMP with 3200 MHz spec needs 1.35V that is not supported by my BIOS, i guess).. SAME PROBLEM, SAME ANSWER i believe.

The only RAM sticks that outperform on an HP bios mother board is samsung.
Ive installed all different brands. From Hynix, Kingston and G skills and they all suck.
The only brand that out performs is samsung.
when using mild applications the RAM will always operate at half its rated frequency until the CPU requires a demand for turbo hyper threading then the RAM frequency will pick up to the desired need of the CPU.

HP put clamps on because they think you don't own your machine.. they do. They offer 0 solution and you get almost 0 help from them.
I have Corsair 3600 hz that I got to run at 3200 by implementing Intels older XTU.. but just last night a forced BIOS update came thru and screwed it up and removed capability from XTU. I didn't ask for a BIOS updates from the CCP.. err HP.
All this talk that the MOBO can't handle faster speeds is BS> it can and should run any stick of RAM at 3200 hz. But they make it so you have to buy their triple priced RAM, intentionally. And even then, it's super vague on availability and which stick to buy using their impossibly bad product search set up.
