I installed an AC1200 Archer T5E into the PCIe x1 slot because the Realtek WiFi card has been giving me issues every so often. The PC is not detecting the card in the Archer. Is there a way to get it working or do I need to put an M.2 WiFi card into the M.2 slot?

Hi:
Someone else had the same problem with installing a PCIe x1 card in their PC.

Yes, since your PC has a M.2 slot, I would definitely buy a desktop conversion kit such as this one which should work fine.
If your PC has the RTL8822CE Wi-Fi card then it should have two antenna wires, and you would only need to use the Wi-Fi card and the two antenna wires already present.
You can buy the Intel AX210 non-vPro card on eBay without the rest of the hardware in the above kit.

Have you installed the latest Realtek Wi-Fi driver?

Sometimes that helps, but in general those cards are lousy.
