Microsoft Windows 11

Dear HP,

As you know, the Intel 13th and 14th gen CPUs have a critical issue in microcode that can lead to the CPU's critical damage. Intel has already released the microcode patch.

Where can I find the release schedule for the Intel 13th and 14th gen BIOS update from the HP? This update is critical because, without it, the Intel CPU could be critically damaged. I know the other vendors have already released the BIOS update, but I need help finding the release dates for the HP desktops.

I just bought an OMEN25-L. Haven't opened the box because I'm tempted just to take it back due to this BIOS issue.  If I need to open box to get serial number -- not happening.

Best,
James

This is a systematic problem affecting all PCs. A general statement would be helpful.

Dear Rachel571,

I have the same issue and I already followed this way

and get only one reply

Unfortunately, there are no further actions we can take through this channel. I recommend reaching out to our phone support for further assistance.

This reply is very strange. According to the information from the Intel, up to 2% of CPUs can be affected by this issue. This issue leads to the CPUs damage.

Intel already releases the patch. The other vendors like ASUS and MSI already released BIOS update. But from the HP side we have only silence.

What we need as HP users,  is a clear release schedule of the BIOS update.

Best,

Alexander

I contacted phone support, who told me that they don't have any information about it and to expect the ETA in about a week.

Well it's been well over a week, contacted them again, what a surprise, nothing. The only place I can find information is the discord server

Good news, on the discord server someone said that they had done an optional update from

settings > windows update > advanced options > optional updates titled HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.25.0.0 which includes microcode 0x129 as the microcode version can be checked in hwinfo64.

Dear _m_1,

Could you please check one more time, because HP Inc. Firmware - 15.25.0.0 is an old update from April 2024
