OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-1000i (6C1R8AV)

Greetings everyone, I'm still waiting on the bios update for the Intel 13th gen and 14th gen raptor lake cpus that have been crashing lately.

I am of course referring to this: https://www.theverge.com/24216305/intel-13th-14th-gen-raptor-lake-cpu-crash-news-updates-patches-fix...

I'm currently on an omen 45L desktop, purchased during fall last year. I've been wondering if the above mentioned mass cpu crashes will affect mine aswell.

I'd also like to ask whether HP is going to address this issue for their omen desktops/laptops, and when can we expect a bios update for ourselves now that Asus and MSI recently rolled out bios updates that mitigates the 'elevated operating voltage' issue through their motherboards.

Good news, on the discord server someone said that they had done an optional update from settings > windows update > advanced options > optional updates titled HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.25.0.0 which includes microcode 0x129 as the microcode version can be checked in hwinfo64.

Hello Gaya1239

Your response is nowhere related to my concern regarding the ongoing Intel CPU crashes and microcode instability issues that have been affecting 13th and 14th gen chips.

Again, I am referring to this: https://www.theverge.com/24216305/intel-13th-14th-gen-raptor-lake-cpu-crash-news-updates-patches-fix...

I am told that the microcode (0x129) BIOS update due August from intel would resolve this, and is currently being distributed to OEM/ODM partners for motherboards, and product vendors for desktops or laptops. Intel's product support forum has also mentioned that affected/damaged chips would get replaced within warranty from both product vendors and manufacturers.

https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/Microcode-0x129-Update-for-Intel-Core-13th-and-14th-Gen-De...

I need to know when can I expect this motherboard BIOS update for my HP Omen 45L desktop that mitigates this microcode instability issue with my Intel Core i7-13700K (13th gen) CPU. Moreover, when can we expect an official response from HP with regard to their affected Intel products (including desktops and laptops).

I kindly request you to re-read my query carefully, as prolonging this issue would only put mine as well as other HP products with intel chipsets at further risk of deteriorating CPU life-span.

I have the same issue

You linked the May BIOS update?

Is there any news regarding this BIOS update?

The update is very critical because it is now risky to use intel processors without it.

it would be nice to use the computer without fear that the processor will fry and become inoperable...

Hi, I tried to contact HP support via WhatsApp and got "The exact date for the BIOS update hasn’t been specified yet. Typically, it takes between 3 to 6 months, depending on the issues identified and alignment with Microsoft updates." Which is complete nonsense considering how quickly other manufacturers released this critical update so after further questioning I got "Unfortunately, there is no new information at the moment. We should have the ETA in about a week. Could you reach out to us again by then?" Which still seems to me that it was just a filler statement to end the chat. We need an official word and the update released by HP, asap, as most of us don't want to go through the process of our CPU's degrading and having to get them replaced.

HP initially said 2weeks to a month for me, then I saw this post and asked but no eta.

I have not had a running system for 1 month.

No running system? Is that because you refuse to turn it on until it's time to install the update? That's my situation, but it's on a replacement PC for my current machine so I can afford the luxury of waiting.
