I got Corsair vengeance ddr4 ram but didn’t realize with my omen 30l that it wouldn’t run at 3200mhz and was stuck at 213hz so I took it out and put my old stick which is Hyperx fury ddr4 but now I’m getting the secure boot invalid message (3fo) error message but if I turn off secure boot I can’t play certain games… so what should I do?

Hi @NardDog,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter a "Secure Boot Invalid" or "3F0" error, it could be related to BIOS settings or hardware changes affecting your system's ability to boot correctly. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Access BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup by pressing the appropriate key during startup (usually F10, F2, ESC, or DEL depending on your HP OMEN model).

Check Secure Boot Configuration:

  • Once in the BIOS/UEFI, navigate to the Secure Boot menu.

  • Ensure that Secure Boot is enabled if your system previously functioned with it. If you disabled it temporarily, re-enable it.

Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings to Default:

  • Before making any changes, you can try to revert all settings to their default values. There is usually an option in the BIOS/UEFI for "Load Setup Defaults" or "Reset to Default."

Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware:

  • Sometimes issues can be resolved with a BIOS update. Visit the HP Support website with your specific OMEN model number to check for firmware updates.

Ensure Correct Memory Placement:

  • Make sure your RAM modules are properly installed in the correct slots according to the motherboard specifications. Mismatched RAM can sometimes trigger boot issues.

Check Boot Order:

  • Verify that the correct boot device is set as the primary boot option in the BIOS/UEFI settings.

Consider Dual-Boot or Hybrid Configuration:

  • If disabling Secure Boot resolves the issue with the RAM but restricts game playability, consider if you can find a balance by ensuring all drivers and firmware support the required configuration.

Test with HP Diagnostics:

  • Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tools to check for any memory or hardware issues before booting into Windows.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

HI @NardDog,

Thank you for your response.

We request that you perform a UEFI test and share the test result with us:

Step-by-Step UEFI Hard Drive Test (F2 Method)

  1. Turn off the computer: Hold the power button for at least five seconds to ensure it is completely powered down.

  2. Turn on and press ESC: Turn on the computer and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (about once per second) until the Startup Menu appears.

  3. Access Diagnostics: Press the F2 key on the menu to select System Diagnostics.

  4. Component Tests: In the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, select Component Tests.

  5. Storage/Hard Drive: Select Storage, then select Quick Test.

  6. Run the test: Click Run once. If you have multiple drives, select the one you want to test (or choose "Test All Hard Drives").

  7. Review results: When the test is complete, results are displayed on the screen. If the drive passes the Quick Test but you still have issues, run the Extensive Test (includes SMART Check, Short DST, Optimized DST, and Long DST)

Hi @NardDog,

Thank you for your response.

May I know if you can reset the SSD once and check?
