@Xenopsi , welcome to the Community.

The motherboard in your computer is HP proprietary. It has a 4-pin power connector instead of a standard 24-pin ATX power connector. You will have to buy any PSU upgrade from HP.  HP has a 500W power supply unit (PSU) (L05757-800) that should be compatible with your motherboard.  This will limit the upgrades.

Here are the Product Specifications and Motherboard Specifications for the computer:

https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06154194

https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06008802

You should look at the sections titled "Processor upgrade information" and "Memory upgrade information" for the processors and memory that is compatible with your motherboard.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading a video card.  Also, here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when moving your motherboard to another case.  The same consideration apply when changing the motherboard in a HP case.

@Xenopsi,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

As per: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06154194 and: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=3UQ25AA, your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790-0045se (3UQ25AA) is fitted with the Berks motherboard (SSID: 844C), a 400-watt power supply, an i5-8400 processor, 1 x 8GB of RAM, and a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB graphics card -please verify all.

I would like to know the specifics of what components are installed in your gaming desktop, so that I can best assist you with upgrade recommendations.

Kind Regards,
