OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xf0000 (758R1AV)

I am currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn(but this happens in general while gaming). I am playing the game on Ultra graphics setting. When playing on battery mode the average fps is around 95-100 and thermals remain in check(hardly goes past 70 Celsius). When playing on charging mode the average fps is around 140 but the CPU temperature 100 Celsius and the GPU temperature goes past 85 Celsius. Is it normal?

When your laptop is plugged into power, it can use all the power it needs, allowing the CPU and GPU to run faster and therefore hotter. If you want to keep temps down whilst charging, make sure that  your laptop is not set to run at maximum performance when plugged in, which can cause overheating. Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings and try using a balanced or power-saving plan. Make sure that you are using your laptop on a surface that allows for maximum airflow to help with cooling.
