Firmware update runs fine, everything updates besides the last one, 'Scaler'. It says installing but nothing happens for almost an hour I waited. I tried the 1.0.8.0 that omen gaming hub made me download first, same thing happened there. Then I downloaded 1.0.7.0 still nothing. Omen gaming hub won't connect to the monitor now. I tried type c to type c cable, same. Type c to type A, same. Monitor works fine btw. Help would be appreciated.

For posterity, I fixed it.

 

Downloaded HP Display Center, it downloaded a firmware update from 1.0.4.0 to 1.0.6.0, instead of straight to 1.0.8.0. So that worked, waited around 30 min just for the scaler to install though.

 

Then I went to Omen Gaming Hub, because Display Center wasn't showing me any more updates, and through Omen Gaming Hub the update worked from 1.0.6.0 to 1.0.8.0. Also just the scaler, and it took around 30 min too.

in the end i had to connect my monitor to a different machine, so i used my laptop instead and it became unstuck
