To make things even weirder: in the hp omen software i can set ram to 'turbo' modes:

and this results in this timing profile.. that isnt even listed and has ridiculous timings. Think i'm in for buying the most expensive, totally useless sticks of ram from hp.. What a joke. Will try the timings manual later

Ok so i tried Ryzen master again, with the 'new' timings obtained from cpuz.. but it seems that the bios and or hp software auto revert the settings to that idiotic speed and timings.. What on earth is going on here.

Well, i finaly got the solution from hp, and its even more bizar then what i could imagine..  In order to get to the advanced bios you are obligated to either mix or swap the hp mem.. Which is completely bananas.. using stock hp memory is in fact limiting the machines performance en configurability .. See screen below, send to me by HP..

Currently i'm running this config, but i have to find it what works best, 3400 mhz and 18,20,20 isnt bad, and better then the 22,22,22
