Product: Omen-875
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got an Omen-875 and it seems the PSU has some Passive feature whereby the fan will constantly start and stop when not under load (which is cool), only problem it it makes a clicking noise everytime it does this which is super annoying. Is there anyway to just make the PSU fan active all the time?

What is the full model or product number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information.  Here is a guide to help you find it.

Thank you for the additional information, @goodnamestakn!

 

The symptoms that you describe don't seem to be normal to me.  Unfortunately, HP has not provided any information on the power supply unit (PSU) in their documentation.  I suggest contacting the seller to see what they have to say.

You are saying it the PSU fan revs up when under load, but quiets down when not.

That is normal, but the clicking noise is not. A fan bearing would click constantly, but maybe a relay or something similar is failing.

 

 I'll second @old_geekster  idea to take it back to the seller for an refund or exchange.

If you cant, you will have to contact HP Support for a warranty issue.
