Hello, I need to disable Intel Rapid Storage Technology because my only NVMe drive has it enabled, and I want to install Windows 11. However, the BIOS utility "Omen Setup Utility" doesn't have an option to disable VMD. How can I do this?

Greetings @Buchmann04

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Your problem is a learning experience for me since I don't build Intel systems.

Your PC's BIOS may not have an enable/disable Intel Volume Management Device option.

I can't find any specs for your PC. Is your PC now doing an Intel Optane setup?  I don't think this is happening but it doesn't hurt to inquire.

I have been building AMD PCs since 2020. AMD PC Windows installations are generally uneventful.

Please provide the specific Windows setup error you see when trying to install W11.

Have you tried an in-place upgrade by running W11 setup within the existing version of Windows you now are using to see how things go?

Some Intel MBs require an IRST driver injection during a clean Windows installation.

Maybe @Paul_Tikkanen can assist if you need the Intel rapid storage controller driver during a clean W11 install.

Regards
