The biggest issues with these machines is the cooling or rather the lack of it. In the gaming hub you are restricted to 3 fan speeds but what do these actually mean in real terms? Is turbo running the intake and exhaust fans at full capacity? When physically checking the air flow there seems to be little difference between default and turbo.
In the BIOS you can see the RPM for all the fans and the CPU cooler seems to be controlled on a seperate fan curve which is all locked out. There is nowhere else you can see the fans RPM. It would be useful to see this in the gaming hub aswell as more manual control of the fan speed such as a slider or fan curve. I have seen this for the gaming laptops why not the desktops?
Since there is only 1 intake fan I would like to know what it is actually doing.

Thanks for the detailed reply Rachel571.
Since checking the latest Omen Hub documentation, it seems there are different versions with these advanced fan control settings that I mentioned but they are exclusive to the higher end 40L & 45L gaming desktops.
Unfortunately the way HP have configured Omen gaming PC's there is no third party software that will detect or monitor the fan speeds. To control them with third party software you would need to install a seperate fan controller.
Thank you for confirming that the CPU cooler fan is dynamically controlled by a fan curve and why this has been locked out in the BIOS.
My version of the Omen Hub under the performance tab has Balanced or Performance mode, I also have seperate Thermal Controls with 3 fan modes being - Quiet, Normal and Turbo. You seem to indicate that Performance mode allows all of the fans to be controlled dynamically according to demand not just the CPU fan. I was of the impression the 3 fan modes were for the intake and exhaust fans only and have a static RPM with Turbo being the fastest (which you say is the maximum RPM).
Can you please confirm?
