Hi everyone, it has been over 6 months now that I've got some problem while playing with my computer. My screen turns black, keyboard and pc fans still on, but no images. I have been trying to check all the different components of my computer but nothing seems to be a problem. After some research, I've come to try OCCT program. AND while doing the 3d adaptative test, my computer makes the same error, and when I look at the "log" of the OCCT I see the error "WHEA". I've no idea of where this could come from.. this is why I'm asking it here, if any of you had that problem in the past or still have this problem right now?

Thanks for reading me.

Hi @val9709

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Contact HP Support if the PC is in warranty.

A WHEA error usually points to a hardware failure which could be heat related.  Are system temps good? Have you checked the temps? A hardware driver could also cause this error but this item is usually down on the list of possible causes.

Are all drivers, especially graphics card drivers, and system files up to date using Windows Update? How does Device Manager look, any errors?

Run the system file checker at an Admin command prompt. Enter the following sfc /scannow

RunDISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth if the first command reveals uncorrectable errors.

Run the first command again to verify things are now good.

I would also run HP Diagnostics at startup to check the system and components.

Now you would check memory, the CPU, and the graphics card. This will probably require swapping in replacement components. The MB or the power supply could also have a problem.

You might need a local PC Tech at this point who can swap in different components to find the bad part.

Thank you for your answer Bill! After swapping component, I managed to find the problem. My gpu has an error while going at 100% capacity. On less demanding games, I have no problem. But on high demanding games, after some time it appears that the graphic card could not run properly after like 5-10 minutes (fans are always at 100% m, I guess there is a problem with the heat as you mentioned.)I asked the website where I bought the computer to make a repair regarding the graphic card, but knowing that the warranty has passed since October, this would probably means I won’t get any services (unless maybe paying for a new gpu).

anyway, thank you for your time!
