Hi I wanted to upgrade my gtx 1080 to a gtx 3070. I never upgraded anything on a pc before besides ram. Can you guys recommend a good power supply. My default power supply is 500w I’m thinking that wouldn’t be enough. It doesn’t seem to be a lot of space in the tower will I get overheating issues with a 750w power supply and the gtx 3070?

@Rahh , welcome to the forum.
Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will tell what to consider when upgrading the video card: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Knowledge-Base/Upgrade-Video-Card/ta-p/7481981
Your motherboard has UEFI: https://www.howtogeek.com/56958/HTG-EXPLAINS-HOW-UEFI-WILL-REPLACE-THE-BIOS/
So, this is no concern for you. Read the guide carefully and follow the instructions for assuring that the video card will fit properly with space for good airflow. As you stated, the size of your case does concern me. I have a full-tower with a RTX 2080 installed. It develops a lot of heat. One thing that you can do to solve some of the heat problem is buy a fully modular power supply unit (PSU): https://www.newegg.com/corsair-rmx-series-rm750x-cp-9020179-na-750w/p/N82E16817139233?&quicklink=tru...
Here is a Power Supply Calculator: https://www.newegg.com/tools/power-supply-calculator/?nm_mc=AFC-RAN-COM&cm_mmc=AFC-RAN-COM&utm_mediu...
I like MSI video cards. As stated, I have the MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio (See my signature). It runs every game that I have played at Ultra settings without breathing hard.
Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
