I own an Omen X - 900-1xx prebuilt back in 2018. Currently running an GTX 1080 graphics card, i'm wondering if i can upgrade it to a modern GPU like a RTX 4080 super or will I have to change my motherboard as well to accomodate it? Which motherboard can I buy?  And what kind of CPU will I need to buy that fits? Or is it better to sell this machine and buy a new desktop?  Any information/ advice will help! My current CPU is a i7-7700K

Hi @MJansen

the series of these models are also sold with RTX 2080 Ti., the GPU you indicate needs a 750 watt power supply, you have is 600 watt.

But my question is, should I also buy a new motherboard and CPU?

in my opinion, it is not convenient the price you are going to pay as long as you get a compatible motherboard which is very difficult, it is so high that you better buy a new computer and put a little more money,

But of course you can do what you want with your money.

I understand! I think I will go for a new gaming computer then. Thank you!
