Based on my own poking around, I agree that Timetec seems the best choice. But there's a wrinkle... I saw a similar Pavilion in Costco with 12GB of RAM, and that's the amount I'd like to have. Eight GB might not be enough and 16 is more than what I need, but I had planned to add 8GB to my existing 4GB (in one slot) of HP RAM. Some posts warn that this could lead to incompatibility even if both sticks match in description but come from different vendors. Anyone have any wisdom about that?

Greetings @AZCharlie01
Look, and I am sure @NonSequitur777 would agree. Go with the 32 GB Timetec memory kit at $45.00 USD. That's a really good price!
Keep the HP RAM as a backup.
You should, hopefully, not regret doing a 32 GB memory kit of Timetec RAM.
I'm now doing 32 GB memory kits on all of my PCs.
Regards

Thanks again to those who advised me herein. I was stuck p that 12GB idea, so I ordered two sticks of the Timetec flavor mentioned earlier. In my house are two identical Pavilion desktops that came with 8GB memory. I took one of the 8MB sticks and replaced one of the 4s in each computer. The result in each was 12GB of memory running at 3200, full speed.
