OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0034
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am getting ready to upgrade my Omen. I purchased it in 2019 but I think it was the previous year's model. I want to upgrade the GPU to a 3060 with 12gb vram. And add a power supply of 850w. (I know the power supply is more than I need but I want to have one that might work in future upgrades.) Is there any reason to think these would not be compatible with the processor (i7-9700 @3.00GHz) or the motherboard? I have absolutely no idea how any of this works, which is why I did a rebuild to begin with haha.

@yodabauer , welcome to the Community.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading a video card.  Once you read this article you will have a much better idea of what needs to be done.  I have a concern that the video card may be too long for your mid-size case.  Also, if it does fit, heat will be another concern.

Any standard ATX PSU should work.  Just measure the existing PSU and compare those measurements to the one that you choose.  I like Corsair products.
