Is it possible to upgrade my motherboard in my pc case? will the motherboard be able to go in the case I have right now? Can I also take out my old cpu and put it in the new motherboard I want to buy? Thanks for your help.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c05828859
Its motherboard has uATX: 24.0 x 24.0 cm (9.4 x 9.4 in) form factor therefore the case should physically fit all uATX motherboards.
One thing you need to check: power sockets/connectors.
For the second question, you need new motherboard for Intel processors with LGA 1151 socket.
Regards.
Note: Your post is under Notebooks board. I will move it to Gaming/Desktops board
