OMEN 25i Gaming FHD Monitor
Microsoft Windows 11

I am currently using an Asus G513rm laptop equipped with a Nvidia 3060 GPU and an AMD Ryzen 6800h processor. Recently, I purchased a second-hand HP Omen 25i monitor primarily due to its support for Wide Color Gamut (WCG) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) features.

Before making the purchase, I conducted a thorough monitor test using the website https://www.wide-gamut.com/test to assess its WCG capabilities. During this test, I successfully identified and observed the "W" logo within the red square, confirming the monitor's WCG compatibility.

Upon returning home, I encountered an issue with the Adaptive Sync feature not functioning as expected with my HDMI 2.1 cable. Consequently, I decided to acquire a USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable (Paugge brand) to address this concern. With the new cable, I successfully activated the G-Sync feature.

However, despite resolving the G-Sync issue, I am currently unable to utilize the Wide Color Gamut feature. I have attached screenshots of my Windows Display and Nvidia Control Panel settings for reference in this matter. In the provided image gallery ( https://imgur.com/a/E1Cqyf0 ), the first two pictures showcase my settings, while the last picture illustrates the settings of another user who owns the same monitor and has successfully enabled WCG.

In comparing my settings with those of the other user, I noticed that they can access the WCG feature in their Windows settings and adjust the desktop color depth to 64-bit via the Nvidia Control Panel. Regrettably, I do not have the same options available in my settings.

I am seeking assistance in understanding how to enable the Wide Color Gamut feature on my system and identifying any potential steps or settings that I may be overlooking. Your guidance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @onurz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's great that you were able to resolve the G-Sync issue with your HP OMEN 25i Gaming FHD Monitor using a USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable. To enable the Wide Color Gamut (WCG) feature, you can follow these steps.

Check Monitor Specifications: First, ensure that your HP OMEN 25i Gaming FHD Monitor supports Wide Color Gamut. Not all monitors have this capability, so it's essential to confirm that your specific model does.

Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. Visit the Nvidia website and download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with advanced features like WCG.

Nvidia Control Panel Settings:

  • Open the Nvidia Control Panel.
  • Click on "Change resolution" under the "Display" section in the left pane.
  • In the right pane, make sure the "Output color format" is set to RGB.
  • Also, ensure that the "Output dynamic range" is set to Full.
  • Click the "Apply" button if you make any changes.

Windows Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Scroll down and click on "Advanced display settings."
  • Under "Color settings," make sure the "Choose a color profile" dropdown menu is set to a wide color gamut profile if available.

Monitor Settings: Sometimes, monitors have their own color settings. Navigate through your monitor's menu and check if there are any color mode or color gamut options that need to be adjusted. Refer to your monitor's user manual for specific instructions on accessing and configuring these settings.

Restart: After making these changes, restart your computer to ensure that the settings are applied correctly.

Check Games and Content: Keep in mind that not all games and content are designed to take advantage of Wide Color Gamut. You may need to specifically enable this feature in games or applications that support it.

Calibration: For the best results, consider calibrating your monitor using a hardware calibration tool. This can help ensure accurate colors for your specific setup.

If, after following these steps, you still cannot enable the Wide Color Gamut feature, it's possible that your monitor may not support it despite what another user's settings indicate.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
