HP ProDesk 600 G3 Microtower PC (Y3E02AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to upgrade my PC processer to a Intel Core i5-7500 Socket 1151 LGA 7th Gen 3.8 GHz.

But I was wanting to know if it would run windows 11 or what's the best processer, I can get for this computer to help run windows 11 smoothly?

My current processer is an Intel Core i5-6500 Socket 1151 LGA 3.20 GHz

Thanks

Your PC only supports Intel 6th and 7th gen Core processors.

You need a 600 G4 to run an Intel 8th gen Core processor in it.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

Where can I get the 600 G4 motherboard?

Also can everything on the 600 G3 motherboard be transferred to the 600 G4 motherboard?

Thanks

You're very welcome.

The 600 G3 and G4 cases should be the same and the motherboard should fit but I don't know if it uses a different heatsink.

Then you also have to buy the G4 motherboard and an Intel 8th gen core processor.

You might be better off just buying an 600 G4 MT on eBay.

Otherwise, I recommend that you buy a supported Intel 8th gen core processor and 600 G4 MT motherboard on eBay.

Here's the 800 G4 specs which has the list of supported processors.

You will also need to upgrade the memory to DDR4-2666 MHz, unless you don't care if the PC runs slower if it came with DDR4-2400 memory.
