Hi @debajeet

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—rapid battery drain on a new HP OMEN 15 can be frustrating, especially when you're expecting solid performance and endurance. Let’s walk through a few recommended steps to help improve battery life on your system:

Step-by-Step Battery Optimization for HP OMEN 15

1. Update BIOS and Drivers via HP Support Assistant

  • Open the HP Support Assistant app (preinstalled on most HP systems).
  • Go to Updates and install all recommended BIOS, chipset, and graphics driver updates.
  • Restart your laptop after updates are complete.

2. Adjust OMEN Gaming Hub Settings

  • Open OMEN Gaming Hub.
  • Navigate to Performance Control and select Balanced or Quiet mode instead of Performance.
  • Disable Lighting effects under the RGB settings if enabled—they can consume extra power.

3. Check Background Apps and Startup Programs

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup tab and disable unnecessary apps.
  • In the Processes tab, look for apps using high CPU or GPU when idle.

4. Enable Battery Saver Mode

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
  • Under Battery saver, turn it on manually or set it to activate automatically at a higher battery percentage (e.g., 50%).

5. Reduce Display Brightness and Refresh Rate

  • Lower screen brightness to a comfortable level.
  • If your display supports high refresh rates (e.g., 144Hz), reduce it to 60Hz when on battery:
    • Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display and adjust the refresh rate.

6. Turn Off Unused Features

  • Disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use.
  • Unplug peripherals like external drives or dongles when on battery.

If the issue continues even after these steps, HP may recommend running a battery check using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool.

Let me know if you’d like help with that or if you'd like to explore battery calibration steps. You're doing the right thing by addressing this early—let’s get your OMEN running efficiently.
