Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Graphics card went out and the new one is not supported by my motherboard because of bios issues that can not be updated. Put simply, my pc is too old to run the new card so i am looking at another card but am not sure how to make sure it works for me. I have hp pavilion hpe h8-1214 desktop pc with M3970AM-HP (Angelica) motherboard and would like to know if XFX Radeon RX 570 RS Graphics Card Black/Red (RX-570P427D6) will work. I play world of warcraft and i know this isnt a super gaming system but ive added more ram and have been using EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD 1280 MB GDDR5 Dual PCI Express 2.0 DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort SLI Ready Graphics Card, 012-P3-1571-KR and the game plays great at normal settings. Can somebody please tell me if the rx 570 will work or how i can find out for myself?

@whattod0 , welcome to the forum.

 

The reason that the newer video cards are not compatible with your motherboard is, they require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  Your computer was released in January, 2012.  The last series of cards not to require UEFI were the GTX 660/670's.

 

I suggest that you choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system.  I happen to like MSI.  They make great products.
