Hi @palmtopweeb
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but the color change still isn't working on your HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-1509p. Here are a few things to check:
Step 1: Check HP Gaming Hub Compatibility
Some HP Pavilion Gaming desktops require Omen Light Studio within the HP Gaming Hub to change colors. Ensure you have the correct software installed.
- Open HP Gaming Hub (if installed).
- Navigate to the Lighting section.
- Try adjusting the color settings.
If your model doesn’t support customization, the lighting may be fixed.
Step 2: Ensure HP Gaming Hub is Updated
If you already have the HP Gaming Hub, but it’s not working, update it.
- Open Microsoft Store.
- Search for HP Gaming Hub.
- Click Update if available.
Then, restart your PC and check if lighting controls work.
Step 3: Check the SDK Installation
Since you've already downloaded an SDK, ensure it's compatible with your system.
- Locate the installed SDK folder.
- Verify if it's the latest version and supports HP Pavilion Gaming desktops.
- If unsure, try reinstalling from HP's official site.
Once installed, restart your PC and test the lighting settings again.
Step 4: Test Hardware Controls
If software-based methods aren’t working, try using the physical button on the desktop.
- Locate the button with a "1 inside a circle".
- Press it firmly and observe if lighting changes.
- If unresponsive, check connections and power.
Step 5: Verify If Your Model Supports Customization
Not all HP Pavilion Gaming desktops allow color changes.
- Search for your specific model TG01-1509p on HP’s official website.
- Check the product specifications for RGB control features.
- If your model doesn’t support lighting customization, changing the color may not be possible.
Try these steps and let me know how it goes. If you need further troubleshooting, I’ll be happy to help!

It looks like you've already tried updating the HP Gaming Hub, reinstalling the SDK, and pressing the physical button, but the color still won’t change on your HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-1509p.
Here are a few additional steps to troubleshoot:
1. Confirm RGB Customization Support
- Not all HP Pavilion Gaming desktops allow color changes—some models have fixed lighting.
- Check your product specifications on HP’s official support page to confirm if your model supports RGB customization.
2. Try Omen Light Studio (If Available)
- Some HP Pavilion Gaming desktops require Omen Light Studio instead of HP Gaming Hub.
- Download Omen Light Studio from the Microsoft Store and test the lighting controls.
3. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your PC and enter BIOS (F10 during startup).
- Look for RGB or LED settings—some HP models allow lighting adjustments through BIOS.
4. Test with HP Command Center
- If HP Gaming Hub isn’t working, try HP Command Center (available in the Microsoft Store).
- Open HP Command Center > Lighting Settings and attempt to change the color.
5. Reset RGB Settings
- Uninstall HP Gaming Hub and Omen Light Studio.
- Restart your PC and reinstall the latest versions.
- Try adjusting the lighting again.
If none of these steps work, your model may have fixed lighting that cannot be changed. Let me know if you need help verifying your model’s RGB capabilities!
Thanks,
Hawks_Eye
